He Never Woke Up Again

2021-05-19 · philosophy, personal

He was once getting ready to sleep, and he put his head on his pillow, pulled his blanket, and then closed his eyes. Then nothing, eternally. He never waked up again, never lived again, never put his head on his pillow again, never pulled his blanket, nor closed his eyes ever again. Intimidating, isn’t it?

We all, without doubt, must have finally reached that conclusion one die: “Oh look, my uncle died. My uncle is a person. My parents are persons. I am a person. That means…,” and just that is it, really.

Most people recover from that hideous realization and continue their lives believing in the significance of their existence, as if.

However, there are others, including myself, who never recovered from that. It is simply overwhelming to realize that you are the only being who knows about their demise and the universe’s demise as well.

All the steps I wanted to take, all plans I had, all the ideas I thought of, my smell, my existence, everything will come to disappear with me as if never happened without leaving a trace. I bet you perhaps met some of those people in life as well. They have seen the abyss of their existence and knew that beyond everything they, there will be none. That someday, they will disappear, and it all will make no sense to the upcoming generations.
